Autumn and spring both have a lot of "beauty of impermanence" symbolism, and I am pretty sure I did talk about that on reading_genji. In fact Genji is probably what inspired the spring vs. autumn exchange, as that occurs there as well, albeit under less fraught circumstances.

I do want to get back to Genji, but there are moments when I really wish a bloody swordfight would break out.
