RL: Conan and Holmes: This is why you don't leave children unattended..they run off

Jun 22, 2009 18:52

Shinichi took several deep breaths as he had effectively gotten away from Ran and was well on his way back to the agency. He closed his eyes and had to steady himself as he gripped onto a glass window and looked at his appearance ( Read more... )

So sorry! Didn't mean to make you wait ;.;This transition between worlds was not kind to the dear detective, not at all. It was like nothing else he had experienced before, not even akin to a bad dosage of drugs, it was just that wholly unpleasant. But he was exacting precise control over himself and the only indication that he was having issues was the deeper pallor that settled over his face. Keeping his back to Watson was the only way he could possibly keep the Doctor from commenting, and that was precisely what he was going to keep doing ( ... )

It wasn't all that surprising that Holmes had suddenly decided on dragging Watson on a case. But really, he would have liked some advance notice if Holmes was going to drag him onto a different world altogether, especially since he himself barely had had time to reconcile the idea of different worlds. Where were they going? To the world of some little boy, most likely the future. It was all very exciting, perhaps, but Watson grabbed his gun, just in case ( ... )

Conan looked up at the detective and resisted the urge to shake his head, Ran must have hit him harder then he thought, he could've sworn he just saaw two Sherlock Holmes.

He released the door handle and stood up as straight as he could, noting immediately that hurt and went back to slouching.

"E-evening." He managed, not in a fanboy mood as Ran was in danger. "Um... Welcome to Japan...?" Shinichi wasn't entirely sure how to go about this, was never very good at the formal approach.

He could tell instantly at that wavering first word that something was physically off with the boy, but he was not wont to press right off the bat. "Evening and thank you muchly. I don't believe it is in our best interest to waste too much time with stilted formalities," he said as he took a stiff step forward.

Sherlock was not pleased with his body revolting as such, but he just pressed his mouth into a firm line and tried to get past it. "I am Sherlock Holmes, as you are aware, and this," he turned his head to look at Watson for the first time since making this hop, and gestured to him vaguely, "is my dear friend Doctor Watson."

Reaching up to his head he plucked his hat off in one movement that should have been smooth, but he ended up dropping his hat to the floor. Mouth twisting into a dissatisfied sneer at his own clumsy behavior, he bent stiffly to pick it up.

Watson moved forward with Holmes when the child entered the room. But really, had Holmes been waiting on a child? The boy had rather neat hair and a pair of glasses perched on his nose; his eyes shone with an intelligence and (to Watson's surprise) a tinge of weariness. This was further emphasized by a rather unnatural slouch.

This boy... he seemed rather familiar. He couldn't be older than most of the children Holmes occasionally employed in his work. Why in the world would they have business for a child? And then why go to such extremes such as "worldhopping"? Surely a case for a child, Holmes could have solved sitting from his armchair?

As Holmes introduced he and himself, Watson had the quash the urge to reach out his hand to the child. Instead, he nodded, which seemed acceptable. A second later and Holmes dropped his hat, leaving Watson slightly worried. Holmes was usually an incredibly dexterous person; for him to do such a clumsy act meant the world-hop had affected him more than it had affected Watson ( ... )

Conan bowed his head in respect as he would during an introduction.

He looked towards Watson and bowed his head slightly towards the good doctor and moved passed Holmes slowly as to not disturb his injuries and towards Kogoro's desk where'd left his laptop.

He pressed the button to open it up and didn't waste time to open up the hidden files all his notes were kept in, he typed in the password, the ever original APTX4869, and his notes on the Hinamizawa Syndrome popped up immediately.

"This is.. what I have so far, along with a few notes I've taken by the few encounters I've had with Ran."

Shinichi blinked as the screen blurred. "...I need an ice pack, hold on a minute." The shrunken teen headed over to the kitchen area of the Agency and grabbed a chair to climb on so he could fetch an ice pack from the freezer.
