Saturday we went over a friend's house from high school. It is the same one we've been to a few times in the last year. It was the same insanity of people: 9 adults, 10 kids all under the age of 5. One kid might have been 5. It was fun. We ate too much, had some good socialization, and did a lot of running around. As is now our usual, we brought cupcakes. They were well received by the kids and quite messy.
One funny thing was what is now dubbed "talking soup". The theme of the day was Mexican. Stacy had made tortilla soup (minus tortillas, but it counts). It was quite tasty. Several hours later we were sitting in the living room when Stacy heard something in the kitchen. She went in there and said, "The soup is bubbling!" We asked the obvious question, "Is the stove on?" No! It was undergoing some sort of mild chemical reaction and creating bubbles. Over the next hour or so it increased in intensity. Craig and I eventually got up and took a look at it. I started poking it with a spoon and Craig joked that I was making it angry. I felt the pot and there was no heat. It amused us. An hour-ish after that, the other pot (the one we had eaten out of) began "talking". I'm guessing it was nothing too harmful. No one reported any, um, "problems" other than the usual from overeating and topping off with beer. ;)
Sunday was spent at home being our normal lazy selves. We ordered pizza and watched a bunch of Alias (season 2). We're definitely hooked. As much as we've heard about the negatives of subsequent seasons, we may end up renting them anyway.
