Train Platform

Mar 26, 2007 21:55

Today, was a very very silly day.
There I was, standing at the platform at 7:26 the same as I do every day when I realised the group of friends I travel to work with every morning might not make the train today. The train had been announced some 30 seconds before and it was definitely on its way in to the station. So, I walked quite casually along the platform, avoiding people as I went when suddenly, I realised that the ground was no longer there. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I went, all the way down and hit the tracks some 5 feet below in a Judo breakfall.
Hmmm I thought, this is quite stoney here. Hmmm I thought, I am going to die in about 20 seconds. Then, men came. They grabbed my wrists and I hoisted myself from the platform. Good thing I'd been doing Chin-ups and pushups. So, all was not lost and the cool thing was, nothing broken, nothing damaged including my laptop, phone, memory stick etc.
What's even more amusing is that when I got out, despite the 20 or 30 people around me being very shocked, I began giggling madly and found....actually still do find the whole thing hillarious. Very strange, as I fell time seemed to slow down so I was able to flip over mid air and land propperly completely relaxed. Highly stupid but did add a taste of adventure to Monday morning.
INcidentely, for any one suffering from a hangover, although I don't drink I'd imagine that's a good way to get rid of it.
