Walking to Rivendell: End of Week 198

Congratulations to giraffeaholic, who has reached Lothlorien and is now headed on a relaxing river journey down to Rauros Falls. I'm sure she'll have a splendid trip, especially since the Elves packed all those goodies (Hey, anyone seen the lembas? They were right over by the hobbits...).

So how many miles is it from Rauros to Isengard via Aragorn's path? The site I look at has 470 . . .

It says 470 in one place, and 484 in another (at the bottom of http://home.insightbb.com/~eowynchallenge/Tools/Rauros_Isengard/rauros_isengard.html). I'm not sure why it's never been corrected on that site, but the way I rationalized it is that you get to Isengard at 470, and then you do the Isengard Half, a 14 mile trek to see all the flooded bits and review all the goodies that Saruman left for the taking. If you object exceedingly to doing the extra 14 miles, I can take them out, but you're only about 3 miles away from completing those extra miles, and everybody ELSE did it, so, you know... (Hey, look! A bridge! Let's jump off!)
