Walking to Rivendell: End of Week 184
Well, I got to this a *little* bit earlier than last week, but not much.
Happy three-years-on-the-road to giraffeaholic! And some of that was done while carrying a very wiggly baby. Many kudos to her hubby lonebear as well, for hitting the 3000 mile mark! That's pretty darn amazing. To put that in perspective, New York to San Francisco is about 2930 miles. So I guess he's now on his way back. :-)
Since slightlymadmom is no longer here, our average mileage jumped ahead a bunch and it's now on its way to Minas Tirith with Merry. And I'm forced to reveal my poem (extremely loosely based on the Gashlycrumb Tinies):
A is for Aragorn, armed to the teeth
B is for Boromir, blowing his horn
F is for Frodo, mithril shirt underneath
G is for Gandalf, his gray robes all torn
G's also for Gimli, with axe he can't sheath
L is for Legolas, bow always drawn
M is for Merry, pipe smoke like a wreath
P is for Pippin, who steals Maggot's corn
S is for Sam, iron will lies beneath
Our Fellowship's broken, your loss we will mourn
Next I believe I'll do trivia. One question per person with no mileage. Anything in Middle Earth is game. Look for people with zero mileage to find the questions, and comment here if you've got the answer(s). Bonus points if you don't have to look them up! Perhaps there will be a prize, if I can think of a good one.
Long walkers are tacnukesoul with over 20 miles, and lonebear with just about 20. kugelblitz gets the "Missed It By That Much" award this week, as he ended up a mere 0.14 miles from being able to say "The Eagle Has Landed". And about time, too.
