Oh man. The last week was glorious. I spent my time with the most wonderful friends. We filmed about half of "Fences Makes Good Neighbors" which will be a masterpiece when finished ;) It was great dressing up like old ladies and making fake blood.
Next, there was much fun to be had at Wild Waves. Though I ended up with a sun burn, I heartily enjoyed running around in a bathing suit surrounded by a bunch of middle schoolers, psyching myself out before rides, and screaming at the top of my lungs :)
Then came the wonder of the other side. We visited the house which Allison is house sitting and it was simply gorgeous: right above the beach with fruit trees in the yard and a deck with an awesome view. It was like being on vacation in some one elses home. There were old Stadium yearbooks, even one with Mr Catalinich lol. Oh and how can I forget the cute dog. Hobart was hilarious, especially on his walk down to the beach. There was much laughing at his dolphin jumps. We ended the afternoon with a really insightful discussion of relationships and love.
Next was an excursion to the Pierce County Fair, which I had never been to. I suppose that I should have known how hilarious it would be, considering the location in Graham, but I did not realize how "Country Bumpkin" it was. Alas, I had a wonderful time seeing the random handi-crafts and watching the hypnotist. Oh and of course eating the scone... droool.
But alas, the time flew by and we came upon Melisa's time to leave for school. It was a good goodbye. Mostly just our normal nostalgic conversations over Melisa's pictures, reading of SID, some hair braiding, a few new pictures taken, and it was time to go. There was hugging, tears, and smiles.
I suppose that the harder it is to leave, the better you have it where you are. I mean it's not that we're freakishly dependant or anything. We are smart, independant girls who were seperated and forced to make things work on their own at their respective colleges. But when we got back together this summer, we all really clicked. Simple as that. I guess I've never had friendships that grew as these did, so it so exciting and wonderful to have you guys. We had such a strong base friendship and added to it. And that is awesome. I mean really, many of the activities we did over the summer weren't, I don't know, life changing or groundbreaking, but everything we did was soooo much more fun and meaningful for having done it together. Come on, Wild Waves without us together would never be so sweet. I'm just amazed by you all. Thanks for the wonderful summer. There's still fun to be had before I leave on the 29th, but it won't be the same without you, Melisa. So here's to many more fun times. Because you guys can't lose me. I'm in for the long haul.
