I woke up with another taste of bitterness in my lips because of certain things I fail at. chatted with my friend and learned something sad which prompted me to realize that my life isn't so bad and that there are greater things to be thankful for. that there are other people with a more unfortunate happenstance than I ( Read more... )

god is not responsible for each and every death and suffering in the world. he's not even THAT ALMIGHTY (omnipotent, omniscient whatever). god is just god... a creator, a fixer, a mediator. i think it's funny that he gets blamed for everything.

then who's fault is it? it's nobody's. it's inherent in our nature to look for reasons sa mga bagay na we don't understand.. sometimes you don't need to understand, you just have to deal. the storm destroyed my house and killed my whole family, i'll cry and be sad for a day or two, then the next day i'm going look for a place to live in or maybe help a few people on the way... i have to go on with my life.

god may intervene. he could send a few people to fix you... to give you, i dunno, flowers or whatever to cheer you up, pero that's it. everything else is all up to you.

*sigh* my words are discombobulated obviously as you guys can't seem to grasp the story of the poem. if you read the last lines leading up to the characters demise, you will find that he indeed accepts God as all the virtues he values.

in short ladies, this is a story of tragedy which makes a person (any person for that matter) doubt God in all his incomprehensible ways. but leading up to his death he accepts that God exists in him, because all the values he has in life exist in God.

p.s. I shall endeavor to make my writings more concise in the future

no, i understood the poem (it's beautiful). i was just reacting to the first four lines you have written. you know, man's whining.. man's woes. and questions like these...

How can He be so cruel?
How can He be so apathetic?
Why can’t he understand our plight?

questions that shouldn't be asked...

why are you asking these questions now.. hte day before my big exam... anyway, the answers to these questions depend on what your religious beliefs are, obviously... i will give you the christian point of view.

we live in a fallen world, fallen due to sin and the temptations of satan. GOD did not impose all of the suffering in the world THEREFORE He is not cruel.

If there’s a God in our lives and souls
How can He be so apathetic? What you're referring to is God's immateriality-- He invisible but that makes it seem like He doesn't care. My answer to this is that invisibility is part of FAITH. If God showed Himself to us, we would take him for granted. Where do you run to in those moments when you think your end is nearing, or those moments when you think you can't trust anyone else or times you're in excruciating pain and you cry out, "if there's a God, please help me"? These are all reasons God doesn't show Himself to us-- if He did, we would take him for granted like we do all other material things in this world. But FAITH ( ... )

read my last lines o devout christian cousin of mine. the poem or whatever you call it is obviously the story of a tortured person leading up to the point of his death where he accepts that God is all the virtues he values.

p.s. i could argue with all your points but i'll save that for another entry. good luck with your exams. love ya!
