Scenes from an Infernal Restaurant

Oct 30, 2007 09:07

So, last night a few of us once again braved East Coast Grill's Hell Night. Representing were:

vampyrusgirl, who got into the Halloween spirit in her Playboy bunny costume, she was glad when a table of folks in OR scrubs showed up so she wasn't the "only asshole who dressed up".

lynxreign, who ordered a steak so rare it was still moving.

cityofbeige, who got the Martini from Hell, that smelled like butane and tatsed like the liquid left behind in a jar of pickled hot peppers...

bryant, who wisely decided to not get the Pasta from Hell again.

michele_blue, who dared eat the olive from the Martini from Hell:

But, the big winner for the night was head58, who not only got the Pasta from Hell, he finished it, and got the t-shirt!

I give to you now, a montage of Pasta from Hell moments:

Bob Oakes from WBUR was sitting at the table next to us interviewing Chris Schlesinger, the chef-owner of East Coast Grill, and he then interviewed head58 after he finished the pasta. I can't wait to hear the story on the radio tomorrow! :D

I had the Schezuan Ribs that were absolutely delicious, and for my entree I got the swordfish, which was great for the first half, then I took a bite of the Pasta from Hell, and that literally destroyed my taste buds so I couldn't enjoy the rest of it as much. By the time desert came I had recovered my senses enough to taste the delicious chocolate chilli pepper ice cream. What a great flavor that was!

And I got a real kick out of the music- it was like living in my iPod! It was wall-to-wall GnR, Metallica, Prodigy, Marilyn Manson... I think some of the others were not as appreciative. ;)

It was a fantastic night, and I'm doing surprisingly okay this morning! Had some hiccups last night, but no heartburn or anything! ::knock on wood::

friends, hell night, food
