Late, but a couple of thoughts on Victory of the Daleks

It's late, I know, and most everyone's posted their reactions or thoughts on Doctor Who s05e03 ("Victory of the Daleks") by now, but if you've been following my Twitter, you may know I'm under the weather, to put it mildly. Yeah, I'm kind of afraid of that, too. I mean I've clung like a clingy thing to Rose and her Doctors, but was still accepting of the new stuff in seasons 3 and 4. And I really do think if RTD were writing the new Doctor we would not be seeing this nonsense happening because he knew about properly playing out story arcs with subtlety and character development and even if his science was sketchy it was at least semi-plausible. I think SM may be the worst thing to happen to new Who. I think SM might just be digging the hole that buries it again. And it makes me very, very sad, because I want to like it. I have liked all of the Doctors that I have watched, which is all but Two and I know how to accept new Doctors, but I don't know how to accept bad writing. *sighs* I just keep thinking that I would have loved to see episode one played by either Tennant or Eccleston. Ten with Amy would have been smashingly good and Nine with Amy would have made me laugh a lot. I want to like Eleven more than this. I liked Matt Smith in the Sally Lockhart Mysteries. It is the difference in writing I'm sure.
