More privacy issues with LJ

Dec 07, 2007 22:20

Imagine my surprise when I noticed that my LJ entries (public ones) were suddenly showing up on Google searches.

I went to take a look at my settings tonight and found that when LJ added the "flag" settings, it set my privacy settings back to a strange default: "Minimize your journal's inclusion in search engine results" suddenly was unchecked; "Notify Weblogs.com when I post new public entries" was suddenly checked.

The exact opposite of my original settings.

WTF?

Thank you so much, LJ. Whether this comes from 6A or SUP, I don't frankly care. It's wrong and I'm pissed.

What is this? Is the next step becoming like facebook on privacy issues?

privacy, lj
