J. Edgar a Great Movie, Long Time Cominig

Hollywood makes few great movies these days. With J Edgar we see a superb movie about an important historical figure. I was always frightened and intrigued by J. Edgar Hoover. DiCaprio does an excellent job of depicting the FBI director who was the most feared person in Washington. I am a publsihed author, screenwriter, editor and ghostwriter, and on this my Blog I analyze and critique movies from all decades. I even have some things to say about J. Edgar. First, I think there should have been some mention of who Charles Lindbergh was in the beginning of the film, maybe an announcement on the radio that he was the first man to fly across the Atlantic solo; because some people today do not know the importance of Lindbergh's sature. I think DiCaprio should have had more rigid body movements for Hoover, who was a stiff type of man, not a romantic type. Then I think Hoover's mom, played by Judi Dench, should have been a more domineering type of woman since she had full control over her son, and usually those type of mothers are domineering. Other than that I truly enjoyed the movie and congratulate Clint Eastwood for bringing us a great historical film. * I am author of historical, political and science fiction books and screenplays * www.elainenorth.com
