I woke up (first time today rather than second, not a good sleep day) with really sore lymph nodes on my neck. I was reading about scrofula just before I went to sleep. Please tell me it's a cold and my subconscious isn't that stupid?

It is your cold. It is most definitely your cold.

So I haven't talked myself into symptoms of an unlikely illness? I shall take your word for it and let myself off.

No, you have not. You can trust me, I've...played a doctor in an RPG. Ahem.

I would guess that you are like me and will be able to imagine you have exactly what you have just seen/read.

Cos I can do that, if I google whatever that was I'll be able to convince myself I have it pretty much instantly...does make for working in a life insurance company handling the medical evidence rather hard...me and my moles...driving me mad they are...oh yes.

You probably have the plague thats going round, everyone is catching what I've just had, I strongly recommend bucket loads of tissues, cold cures and vitamin c.

I envy people with few enough moles to count. I have to fight hypochondriac tendencies so I don't go nuts trying to keep track of them. It doesn't help that two of them freaked me out by eating the surrounding melanin and my GP was patronising when I asked about it. Boo.
