Today I took the pups to a small local beach area (Buckroe, for those who know it); it's where the Bark Park is that Shakey and Sydney first went to several years ago. I took them both on the sand and they were fine with that, but once we got near the water, Shakey pulled back (which I knew he'd do) and Lacey did the same. Oh well, no beach schnauzers here. We walked around the Bark Park, and Shakey and Lacey were both also very good - no crazy barking or anything, just a heck of a lot of sniffing. They were so good today. :)
Lacey and I have been to bark park fests with Shakey and to obedience class, but I can't believe I hadn't taken her to the pet stores with me until today. We only went to two, one of which is a small women and dog boutique that Shakey and Sydney have been to before. Lacey and Shakey will be getting groomed there on Tuesday, and I wanted to bring Lacey there to visit so her first time there wouldn't be associated with grooming. lol I was dreading her constant barking, but she was sooo good and quiet too! She greeted the groomer lady and they bonded pretty well, yea! Groomer lady even held Lacey and Lacey didn't squirm! :) This boutique store has cool stuff like fancy dog sweaters and chaise lounge beds, and I tried to get Lacey interested in those, but she was too busy sniffing and didn't care. Oh well. It's not like I can afford a chaise lounge looking bed anyways. *g*
Then we went to Care A Lot, a big store that echoes, and Shakey's been there of course and he always barks and it echoes all over. Last time he and I were there, he barked his fool head off at a Great Dane. I swear, LOL! Anyways. Lacey didn't bark at all until we got to the checkout, and she barked at some male for who knows why. She and his dog were sniffing each other pretty good, heh. Lacey had three people who used to own schnauzers come up to her and love on her, and wow, Lacey ate that up, she was crawling under their hands and practically in their laps, LOL.
I was so proud of Lacey today, she was SO GOOD! :) Especially when compared to Shakespeare, who immediately barks when we enter a store as if to tell everyone he's there, lol.
I'm baking cookies now. Mmmmm. It smells sooo good.
