I had a tear in my eye
Oy. Recovering from eye surgery here. I had a slight shadow on the edge of my vision in my left eye, so I went to the optometrist on Thursday. He sent me to a retina specialist Friday morning, who said I had a detached retina. That counts as emergency surgery, so I was scheduled for the OR that night. Yesterday (Saturday) I came home.
They say it went well.
My left eye doesn't see well (though I can make out light and some shapes and movement), but it's supposed to improve over the next week or so. It aches, and I'm tired. I have to sleep just on my right side or my stomach. I'm basically housebound for the next couple of days. Good thing I did some grocery shopping before the surgery!
It also means I won't be running for a couple of weeks. Drat. At least I get the week off work.
Not how I thought I'd be spending my weekend.
