Hanna-schmanna...

So, tonight I get to live through my first tropical storm. My biggest concern is whether my power will go out again and destroy all my beautiful popsicles in the freezer. Other than that, I can cope. I'm at work all day tomorrow, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I wonder if the barometric pressure drop will bring in all the mommas... I'm doing Obstetrics this month, delivering babies. I've only done two so far this week--the rest were false alarms. The weird thing is that both of them were to spanish-speaking only moms, so I really couldn't talk them through it. They both did a good job though. I think I may need to brush up on my spanish language skills. :) Weird to think about having to go through all that myself, but so far I like the way they do things around there--much better than metro Flint.

Only threw up once so far this week. But boy, I have felt like it far more than usual. I hope I'm not going back in to a heavy puke cycle again.

That couch took a lot out of my bank account--but I didn't have to bust into savings or use the credit card to buy it, so it's all okay. I still haven't gotten my savings back up to pre-move levels, but I'm slowly getting there. I'm being a good girl, I swear. But I haven't been able to start the monthly investing yet either though, due to all the moving expenses and the obligatory washer/dryer purchase. By year's end I think I should be able to play a bit of catch up as long as John's going to move in... It's so draining running two households. Financially and emotionally.

Speaking of John, he's hearing a bit more about when he SHOULD be able to start... Sort of. Seems that the story changes day by day though. I guess he was told that sometime next week he'll come down and work for a week. Then he'll go back to Detroit for two weeks, and then come back down here for two weeks and then be back in Detroit again. They're saying by November 1st that Detroit should let him go completely. I'll believe it when I see it. :) At least he has a job. I guess I can't complain, even though circumstances aren't ideal. It's going to cost a lot of money though--I hope the company can pay for all the travel. We sure can't.

I hope everyone is well. Take care of yourselves. Enjoy not having to puke. :)
