Dear self:

You need to change. You can't keep up this attitude. You're bringing yourself down, and you can't have that. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you; they're just going to walk away because they'll get tired of hearing you complain and be depressed. Being depressed is going to do nothing for yourself but make things worse. There are other people in this world that are far more worse off than you are, and here you are, moping around about your problems. Nothing in this world is going to come easy, but the journey to what you want will be better if you have a better outlook on it. What happened to the Darlene you used to be? What happened to the happy Darlene? The truly happy Darlene, not the one who's happy just because she's around other people? I know you're not faking your happiness when you're around other people, but you need to be happy all the time. So what, you're in debt? You're making money, and you're using that money to pay off that debt. Some people are over $10,000 in debt on just credit cards, with no job. And look at you, having a job, getting financial aid, and paying it off - slowly, but surely. Just be patient. Yes, you have problems in your relationship. But at least you have someone who loves you and who is willing to work on it - for you. You being depressed isn't going to draw him any closer, and you know it. You know that everything happens for a reason. You don't know the reason now, but you will realize it when the time comes. You're stronger than this. You're better than this. You can do this. You can get through this.

You can get through this. All it takes is the right attitude.

Sincerely,
Me
