i'm not even going to get into the "invasion" of mexico. that is just all sorts of fucked up.
It IS fucked up. Which is the reason it was there. This was an EXTREMELY left-leaning movie. And I don't think it was even really trying to get through to the right on all the points it wanted to. It had to concentrate on the overall idea of FUCKING SHUT UP AND LISTEN ASS. So instead, it settled for making fun of the right with a vision of an ironic future/present.
Seeing it with a really left audience was hysterical. All of those parts were so tongue-in-cheek and it really hit the mark, I think. If we made a movie about all the things the American government has fucked up over the past twenty years or so, we'd have a movie that would make LotR look like a trailer.
