change of scene
This will be my last post with this icon, as the movers are "coming to take us away" tomorrow morning. I'll need a new picture.
A coyote gave me a 20-minute send-off just now (unusual in the morning), for which I'm grateful. I've missed those doggies -- they've scarcely given notice of themselves since the developer bastard logged and scraped much of the beautiful slopes south of us.
I'll miss the redwood, I'll miss the house and the land I expected would be my lifetime home. I'll miss the road that felt like coming home the first time I saw it.
But it still feels like the right thing to do, for the partner, for the son, and for myself. And I feel good about it.
