I am trying to learn sign language. So far I have the alphabet and number system pretty much down. Verb tenses are next. Some kids have it easy they learned this somewhat in elementary school. CJCR apparantly was not skilled. I understand that I am basically just learning english in a different form (thanks ron...I had an extremely blond moment that involved a comment on signing to a chinese woman), but American Sign Language is actually accepted as its own language (heh heh go debate!)so technically I will no two languages. I will make sure that I cover some ground today.
What is keeping me from covering ground?
I should also be reading the book Nothing Like the Sun by Anthony Burgess that I have had for two months now. (Does Lauren still have my A Clockwork Orange?). I should love this book. I love A Clockwork Orange and The Wanting Seed (omg so amazing...definately would be in my pick of top five books). This book is not only be the same author, but involves Shakespeare, yet it's a little difficult to get into. Further distracting me from this mission, is the purchase of the book STIFF, The Curious Life of Human Cadavers. I love it. It involves corpses and humor. I've got a dark side, a black humor to me, what could possibly satisfy me more (my carol poster satisfeis me too...thanks).
I have bought one thing for my dorm. It's a lamp. It's a little paper lantern lamp. If I have the top bunk I can tape it to the ceiling and if I have to go to the bathroom I can turn it on. It emitts only enough light for me to get down. Its adorable. It's blue with cartoon fish silohuettes. Yeh, my name is Ashley and I am a dork.
I need to get back into the habit of reading the news. I read some interesting things on endometriosis yesterday. Also, this Portuguese Man of War thing intrigues me.
I have been bruising way to easily lately. I need vitamins, badly.
I would very much like to have a night of drinking and cards. I would also very much like to invite my cousin, but I do not think that will be happening anytime soon.
I have to buy my father's ticket for warped tour. My uncle bill kind of pissed me off on that. My mom felt she had to go the first year because she's overprotective, the second year no one drove, last year she had to go because of brian and andy. This year we had it planned, but then Marisa started having car troubles. STill we worked around it, but becuase my Uncle bill is taking my little cousin elizabeth (I'm her rolemode ::beams::) he guilted my father into going. bah. It was supposed to be a year that I did not have to worry about a parent. Whatever. P.S. I totally agree that the warped tour scene is not hte greatest because of little scene girls, but the line up is so amazing this year that I just can't help myself.
Brand New was fucking amazing. Definately the best night of the year so far, possibly the last few years. He is god. enough said. orgasm, orgasm, orgasm. It was good times with Jazzi, Ron, Katie, Ross, and Erik and especially oh those people known as the band. Ron was wicked funny. Men Women and Children was a very needy band, but looking back they were not that bad. Yes, their lyrics sucked, but there was energy. Yes, they were a gay Monty, but maybe they really are gay?
My schedule for URI is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo messsed up. I have like deans working on it now. Stupid Precalculus. I want to take a math. I might have to convince them that I'm ready for calc if htey can't find a precalc. AAT to Calc probably not a good idea, but I slept through most of AAT so who knows. I really need to learn the graphing calculater. I really hope I get into the leadership institute. I wonder who my roomates are. I hope that they are cool with poeple sleeping over :)
I hope that I have an easier time making friends.
I love high-low jack and I love strawberry banana wheels. I hope that friday's beach outing comes together.
I can't wait for the Format.
time for more STIFF...
