OK, so the week in Vegas is over. We came and did our business meetings, but the highlight of the trip was the visit to the Playboy Club at the top of the Palms Hotel. I told La Graciella (self billed as "our bunny for the evening"), you're sitting in the ears and cottontail of history. Needless to say, the women, both customers and employees, were all gorgeous, some approaching Roseann in loveliness, though certainly not arriving. The club sports high-limit table games, but normal limit slot machines. The view from the 53rd story of the new Palms Fantasy Tower was incredible. I was disappointed though, at the small selection of single malt scotches. If I'm only having one drink, I want to make it a good one, and I was hoping to try a new scotch. All I could get was Glenlivet and Glenfiddich (poor me, oh poor me.)
For Erev Shabbat - Sabbath Eve - I found the Kosher Mart (Eastern and Tropicana) and got Challah and sugar free ruggalach. We lit Chanukah candles and Shabbat candles, made a fine dinner, and crashed early, knowing we had to leave the next morning. I would have liked to stay in LV till Sunday and go to Chabad for services today, but it was not to be.
This morning we left Las Vegas with the trailer at about 10 AM. We had to drive clear across town from Boulder Highway to pick up the freeway, and to get fuel at the Commercial Fueling Network (CFN) station. We got to Baker at just about noon, had a nap till 1:30, then got to Barstow a bit more than an hour later. We had some pretty high winds, and saw low clouds over the Tehachapi mountains, so we decided to stop of Barstow for the night. Here we are at the Shady Lane RV Camp. It's got it's pretty large share of older live-in rigs, but it's clean as a whistle, has full hookups with clean power, and good well water.
Dinner came from Juan Pollo. Fine rotisserie chicken and potent salsa.
Tomorrow we head west - unless it snows - then I have no clue.
