Pride of Baghdad Written by Brian K. Vaughan, Artwork by Niko Henrichon is possibly one of the most powerful and emotional graphic novels I've ever read in a long time.
It was inspired by the true events of the 4 lions that escaped the Baghdad Zoo during the bombing raid in 2003. We follow the four in their trials and tribulations as they find a way out of the war zone, lost, starving and confused about all that happened.
This brings up the true meaning of liberation, can it be given or is it something that you have to earn through self determination and sacrifice. Is it truely better to die free or live life in captivity?
If you haven't read this, read it. It's an amazing story with amazing artwork.
