New dawn, fragrant cloud of apricot

I ask of you, I only ask
To sit
as nearly to me as you can
and to measure the lengths of my shadows
and to put your body inside my bandages, despite all
freshly wounded from the thorn thicket
Crow-call and long hallway,
ceiling shimmer

I ask of you what I need not ask,
you have already begun
loved my blood as I loved yours
Set the centers gold
brought to me a shadow-clock

we chose wood against stone
Left the masquerade slipping on pearls
removed the masks to allow ourselves

Coral dawn, new day
June Queen
