'take a look around when you're going down, 'cos you'll never feel so high'

It really was beginning to look like I could only post on weekends! Which, I guess, is kinda accurate. Busier on the weekdays! (I almost wrote bustier...oh my gosh you guys.)

Anyway, hello? June?? How is the year *almost* halfway over already? Like IDEK.

Here's the part where I talk about telly and there are some serious spoilers!

So, Supernatural. What even is this show anymore? I know that's kinda been the mantra of all SPN fans this season, but seriously...first, I don't know how this show was renewed for a 7th season (even tho I love the Winchesters), it's just...HOW? I mean, I realise I sound like a broken record but about that...IDC. This show! UGH.

And then there's Doctor Who...ok, "The Rebel Flesh"?? Legitimately creepy Who. So happy to see Marshall Lancaster in there (Chris Skelton from Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes), but that also makes sense because Matthew Graham wrote them (he also was a co-creator of LoM. Brilliant, just brilliant.) And speaking of brilliant, there was "The Doctor's Wife" by the amazing Neil Gaiman. What an interesting concept, the Doctor finally speaking to his TARDIS. And to be called the "Doctor's wife"! Clever.

Finally, Hawaii Five-0...just WOW. Talk about tearing out your heart and stomping all over it. Really did not see it coming with the governor there. Heartstrings, these writers know how to play them. Glad I caught up in enough time to watch it in real time. Intense schtuff there. Chin gets redeemed in time to see Steve-o AND Kono arrested. UGH. What a cliffhanger.

(My icon is for the following portion of the post...)

Well, in other hockey-related news, my Atlanta Thrashers have been sold to an entertainment group out of Winnipeg, Manitoba which means...they'll probably be moving. I can't tell you how sad this makes me. I think most of you know how much I have loved the Thrashers. Loved them since the first live game of theirs I went to: November 3, 1999. They were my introduction to hockey and now I just feel this great loss. No more Casino Nights, no more going to games, no more checking the guys out at practice, no more getting the signatures, DEFINITELY no more All-Star weekends here, and no more seeing the other great NHLers when they came to town.
Anyway, I watched that press conference yesterday at work. Lemme say, MISTAKE. Well, mistake if you forgot to wear your waterproof mascara. Which I did. But what can you do? I didn't have $170mil (US) to buy them. And neither did anyone else in Atlanta apparently. The had a bad group of owners that did their employees, the players, and the fans all very wrong.
Such a shame it had to end this way.

ETA: Also, my air conditioner is BROKEN in my apartment/flat right now. It's 84F in here currently. I think the high in Atlanta today was 96. Too much.

doctor who: a new era, supernatural, ugh!, atlanta thrashers, neil gaiman has his own tag now
