i spent the day illin' with my grandmother. it was the best time i've ever had with her. happy dance.
we rented: l'avventura (which i plan to copy on vhs), triplets of belleville and i heart huckabees. i found this quote about l'avventura which i think sums up art cinema in a lot of ways..
“There is a scene in the scenario, later cut (I don’t remember why), in which Claudia, Anna’s friend, is with the others on the island. They are speculating endlessly about the girl’s disappearance. But there are no answers. After a silence someone says: ‘perhaps she simply drowned.’ Claudia turns suddenly: “Simply?” Everybody looks at each other in dismay. There: this dismay is the connotation of the film.” - antonioni (writer/director)
i'm having the wildest time trying to do my scripting. i have to revise (hella revise) my act 1 still before doin act 2! aghhhh. for some reason the light always sucks with a dim orange tint here and when i sit down at the computer im instantly squinting and tired. and don't say its JUST laziness, it happens when i peruse the web too. i think i start too late in the day perhaps. my plan for tonight: reread all of the comments on what to change for act 1. then tomorrow im up early for a doctor's appointment and have to run 1 errand for my grandmother, but im gonna space it out so i can start writing when the light is good and i have no reason to complain. being at home makes me a whiney bitch.
on the upward spiral: haircut on friday that i'm VERY excited about. i'm thinking i'll wear it... up. also, i feel like i'm on the verge of a creative surge of energy that i'm lazily nursing out between tv and porn. no, just kidding, i don't look at porn.
ever.
