(dials number.. ringing... ringing........... forever ringing)

ed: ed. how's the story going?
she: i - *click click* - was.
ed: sorry, what?
she: oh
ed: what did you say?
she: how are you?
ed: i'm ok. i just started my work... so it's going well.. are you-
she: *shhhbb*
ed: sorry, what?
she: *hhhhhhhhhChhh* fell asleep-
(pause)
ed: ok, well, in all honesty i can't really tell what you've been saying so i've basically been guessing..... it seems to be sorta working but...
she: yes
ed: did you say yes?
she: *wee siiihhhhhhhh*
ed: oh. ok, well, that sort of sounded like a.. slithering sound.. i..
she: *wiiiirrrrrr*
ed: i.. just calling to see.. how your story... was going - will you be up late?
she: sleep?
ed: huh?
she: oh, i...

ed: well... i guess.. i'll just talk to you... later..
