Agent A had my manuscript for 4 months. I contacted her one month ago - three months into her having the manu - and told her I'd re-written the ending, would she like the new version? She said " yes", so I sent it out. "I should be caught up by the end of July," was her response.
In comes Agent B, wanting a full with an exclusive. I tell agent B "Sure, after I hear from agent A."
Last week, I wrote agent A and told her I'd gotten a request - something agent A asked me to do from day one, should other requests come in. Didn't hear anything back from her. Tuesday, I emailed her and told her I'd send the manu off to agent B on Friday if I didn't hear back from her because, let's face it, she's had the manu for 4 months now. Agent B will have it for 90 days. I've basically tied up this manu for an entire year between just TWO AGENTS.
LAME FOR ME.
RIGHT?
Sadly, I never heard back from agent A one way or the other. I started wondering if she'd gone out of town, on maternity leave, gotten married...(( shrugs )) She was an awesome choice, so I'm calling the waaaaaaaaaaambulance.
