Summary: Throne comes by to visit Bastet after their argument the previous night.
Bastet was very deliberately not looking in the journal this morning. She'd showered and dressed, and was now readying her tea, waiting for her hot water to heat. Sniper had left earlier, dropping a kiss on her sulky mouth and telling her he'd be likely be at his shop all day today. Honestly, she'd be in a much worse mood if he wasn't around.
Arguing with Throne bothered her--they never had before, but given how opinionated they both were, she supposed it was only a matter of time. Their whole argument basically boiled to to Throne insisting she be nice to McQueen, and Bastet not seeing why she should bother; she had a finite amount of patience, and she was very particular about how she used it.
She got the feeling that Throne thought she should have made the same allowances for McQueen's actions that she would have for him or Want or Drake--which she found absurd. He was a grown man--why should she hold him to the same standards as a group of teenagers?
Regardless, McQueen did eventually say he wanted to apologize, which given how resigned and defeated Kazahana had looked at their last meeting was really all she cared about. But instead of feeling satisfied that he and Kazahana would actually talk this over, she was left with a bad taste in her mouth over having argued with one of the people closest to her here in the Sphere.
She sighed, and moved to fill her teapot with hot water. She'd have to go find Throne today so they could talk--she wasn't leaving this unresolved for any longer than she had to.
A knock sounded at the door as soon as she poured herself a cup, and her eyebrows raised in mild surprise. She didn't generally get many visitors, spending as much time at her friends' houses as she did. "Come in," she called, curious.
