Summary: Dino arrives in Edensphere and gets Drake who is having a seriously crappy weekend to greet him.
Talk about your really, really, REALLY lousy weekends.
Drake had had a rough night. He'd been worried sick about his friends to start with, and then when he'd seen his own face -- a very young version but still identifiably him -- in Crow's sketches it had laid him out flat. He'd eventually gotten some sleep, but it had taken quite a while to get to that point and a lot of making sure that other people were around before he relaxed enough to catch a couple hours' shut-eye. He'd dragged himself up out of his traumatized little spot though, because his issues weren't half as bad as other people's issues and he still had a job to do.
He could collapse later.
He was sitting near the eggs -- which were in the kids' shoes section, so they were surrounded by those roller-sneaker things and pink Dora the Explorer tennis shoes and fluorescent green Crocs -- with his sword on his knees, trying to stay awake. The cocoons made reasonably good backrests, so he was currently using one in that capacity. At the moment he was by himself; it made him get sort of broody, but nothing he could do about that particular situation. He relaxed back against the cocoon, sighing.
Then it kicked him.
When the bump hit him squarely in the back of the head he promptly rolled forward, getting out of the way as fast as he possibly could. Great. A hatching now. JOY. He was thrilled, watch him. He sighed, going to get a starter kit and sitting there out of gooping range to wait.
