As far as some parts of the cinematic experience had come, some things never changed. The way the floor clung to the bottom of Lyle's boots as he made his way down the aisle was a tried and true tradition of public theatres everywhere. "I think the gunk is thick enough that it might have strata. You could probably do an archaeological dig here and find the bones of ushers long past."
When Lyle first caught site of the dopey little cartoon up on the screen he wasn't inclined to do more than raise a brow. However, after hearing Krile's bewildered reaction, he couldn't help but crack up.
"Are you familiar with the concept of a commercial?" Well, no, probably not given that she gave the impression that her world lacked a good amount of technology. Without really pausing he went on to explain. "It's a little moving visual advertisement meant to make you want to buy something. ...Some are more effective than others."
Once the ad ran it's course the number 10 popped up on the screen and started cycling through an old fashioned count down. "Looks like the feature presentation, whatever it is, is about to start." Lyle ducked into one of the aisles of chairs right down the middle and beckoned for Krile to follow. He had heard this place showed memories, though he wasn't about to bank on that since the Sphere was unpredictable on the best of days. Still, he was sure whatever they were about to witness was bound to be interesting.
