Sniper exhaled heavily as Krile crashed into him and he wrapped his arms firmly around her, squeezing perhaps a bit tighter than he should almost to reassure himself as well. He shouldn't be happy Krile was here, because there was lots of danger around, but hot relief sank into his bones at the sheer fact that he was no longer alone. Things were just as scary, but nothing was scarier than that simple solitude of being the only figure on a vast sea. He squeezed his eyes shut, because Krile was crying, and the mere thought of it made him want to cry too.

He held it in, though. Mostly. Okay, there was a little rain on his face - rain! It was definitely rain! - but he had wiped it off by the time he stretched back to look her in the face. He clasped her shoulders firmly. "Hey," he said, "it's gonna be okay."

Which really wasn't like him either, because this was the point when he began to shriek and run around in circles about how they were going to die, but you'd have to be a real rat bastard to say that in front of Krile while she was crying. If he did that, he'd have to punch himself in the face.

And then Krile was saying that she hated being alone all of the time, and that hurt so bad that it made him want to cry all over again, but he didn't because real men didn't cry and he was a real man so he hardly ever cried, except that was a lie, but he didn't cry now at least. No wonder Krile hated being alone. It seemed like so many people disappeared on her, and Sniper wasn't sure how she could take it. He hadn't known that many people who disappeared, but even so few people disappearing on him was unbearable.

He sniffed loudly, but that was because of the cold, not because of emotions. Definitely. "Well, that's okay," he managed to say, "'cause if you're ever alone, then all you gotta do is call the Great Sniper and he'll be there. That's one of my special ppowers, you know. A, uh, general being there-ness."

There was a moment's pause. "B-but Krile... who's Exdeath?" He gave her a watery, weak little grin. "He doesn't sound very creative."
