Veda knew going exploring in the Wilderness alone as often as he did was a bad idea - but despite the irrationality of it all, he kept doing it anyway. The Wilderness meant solitude - true solitude, away from both the people and things of the Sphere. And after the confusion of the 'war', he felt like he needed it. Sides being chosen... he knew there were things waiting for him there, important things; but there were important things for him, here, too. It was difficult.
So. An escape. And he always found someone else eventually to get out again, and he had his journal with him if it became necessary to summon someone. So he put a little food and water in a satchel, along with his journal and notebook, and, after making sure the dog had food and water, headed down to the elevator.
When the doors opened on the third floor, it was to a sea of stars - like being in the planetarium, but on a huge scale. There were no monsters - or even other people - in sight, so he stepped out to have a better look. The ground beneath his feet was metal panelling, nondescript, and after a few steps, the elevator door was gone from sight. Typical enough. He turned his gaze back to the sky. There were blurs here and there, that looked closer than the stars - he couldn't tell what, though. And there were no familiar constellations in the sky.
As he scanned, he caught a glimpse of brown hair near the horizon, and did a double-take. A second look revealed that it was most definitely Lockon - not his brother. He gave Veda a quick grin, and walked farther towards the horizon. It took Veda a moment to shake his surprise and break out into a full sprint towards the figure. He'd come back. Why hadn't he said anything on the journal? Why had nobody told Veda? As fast as he was running, Lockon was moving faster, somehow, without even seem to be running. "Lockon! Lockon! Wait for me!"
