She really wasn't sure what to do. She had found herself in the park, wearing a red dress (a Chinagirl dress, her mind supplied her, though she wasn't sure why) with her hair neatly wrapped in buns on either side of her head, which suggested that she didn't bonk her head on something and get amnesia, but she couldn't remember anything anyway. This was a problem, but not one she allowed to trouble her too much. She walked through the park with as much confidence as if she was born there, purple umbrella held above her head to protect her from the whispers of the sun. She had checked the umbrella to see if it could shoot bullets as she was accustomed to, but it was a disappointingly ordinary item.

She hummed under her breath as she considered what to do. Food. Shelter. Those were the two most important things to get. In the meantime, however, she just stared down at the magic book in awe as she walked, not bothering to pay close attention to her surroundings. If something dangerous came up, she figured she'd deal with it then.

Souji was glad to have an afternoon off for once, with temptation of sunny summer weather, and, unsurprisingly, had decided to spend it in the Park. He liked it there, almost as much as the Dojo. It was relaxing. There were some people out and about, but a splash of bright red caught his eye. It was a girl - red dress, red hair. He'd never seen her before - which was something of a surprise. He thought he knew most of the kids here by now.

Aha! This long haired guy was the first person she had seen all day. Sure, maybe one hour didn't count as all day, but fooling around on that weird magic journal thing got boring after a while. She thrust one finger in his direction and belted out, "Hey you!"

He had to have an answer to her questions. Granted, she didn't know what she wanted to ask yet, but that could come after she had gotten his attention. She remembered a weird dream, with a bunch of strange looking idiots in it and had a feeling that if she located just one of the idiots, she could figure out what to do from here.

Well, it was pretty obvious which 'you' she meant, given the absence of other people in the area. She was rather loud, too, but, well, he didn't mind that much. So he gave a cheerful wave in her direction.

"Hello!"

One part of her - Queen, as she had proclaimed herself over the journal not so long ago - knew that it was bad form to demand things of others without so much as introducing herself. The rest of her really didn't care. She twirled her umbrella again, more out of the need to get that itch to move out of her system than anything else. Then, she marched directly over there until she was standing right in front of the boy.

"I appeared here without any memories," she reported, voice as matter-of-fact as if she was simply reciting the weather, "so I need to know where to go now. Also, I'm looking for a guy with wavy silver hair and dead fish eyes."

Dead fish eyes would know what to do from here, she knew. She wasn't sure why she knew, but it didn't really matter why as long as she knew. She'd like to find that plain looking guy in the glasses too, but he didn't seem nearly as trustworthy.

Souji gave her a somewhat curious look. "You mean your Greeter didn't tell you?" He vaguely recalled skimming over something in the journals about 'new arrivals' but he hadn't paid it much attention. Maybe he should have, now.

As for her second question - well, statement, really, but it was more or less a question. "Well, Ginko-san who works at the clinic has silver-ish hair... it's not very wavy, though. And he doesn't look much like a fish."

"I'm supposed to have a greeter?" She placed one hand on her hip with an irritated huff. "Then someone isn't doing his job. He should be fired. No one's told me anything."

Ginko, Ginko... that sounded almost close to something familiar, but fell disappointingly short of the mark. Damn. She was somehow certain that if she could just figure one thing out, everything else would fall neatly into place. "Not a fish," she corrected, resting the umbrella on her shoulder so she could use her fingers to manipulate her eyes into something very much resembling what she was talking about. "Dead fish-eyes. If you saw him, you would be able to tell."

Souji laughed - at both her indignation, and her impression of Dead Fish-Eyes. He decided he liked her, even if she was a bit loud, and a little rude. She was funny, and sometimes it was good to have someone around who was loud and not very serious. The opposite of Rain and Tian - though, he conceded mentally, sometimes Tian was loud - but usually in an angry way.

"I don't think you mean Ginko-san, then. His eyes don't look much like that," he replied when he finally controlled his laughter. He reached into a sleeve, and fished out a couple of wrapped candies, one of which he offered to her. "I'm Souji. Want a candy?"

She opened her mouth to say something about how it wasn't nice to laugh at little girls like that if he knew what was good for him, but was duly distracted by the candy. On one hand, one must never take candy from strangers. It was a bad idea all round, yep. On the other hand, candy. She was never one to turn down any sort of free food. If she got poisoned, she'd just kick this kid's ass.

In an instant, her expression transformed from her previous expression of irritation too old for her age to a smile all too fitting for her age. "Hey, thanks! You're not bad!"

She popped it it in her mouth and slurped on it loudly. "What'd you say your name was again?"

Souji, as usual, was managing a grin appropriate for someone about half a decade younger than he actually was. Not that he minded. And he was glad she liked the candy.

"Souji. Okita Souji really, but only Rain-san calls me by my family name."

She stared at him blankly for a moment, then cupped her hand around her ear in an exaggerated gesture. Just in case he didn't get the picture, she said, "Eh? You keep on moving your mouth but you're not saying anything! What's your name?"

This was really, really odd. It was like he was being censored, but unless this guy had some sort of dirty curse word for a name, she didn't know why. If he did have a dirty curse word for a name, she wanted to know it. It would provide her with some modest entertainment at the least.

Huh. That was interesting. So far nobody he'd met hadn't been able to hear his name - other than himself, before. There was no niggling sense of familiarity, then. She knew him... but he didn't know her? That didn't make sense. He sighed slightly.

"I am saying it. But sometimes when someone's name is important to you, you can't hear it. The Tree won't let you. You can call me Daitou, though."

She regarded Souji silently for a moment. "Nope, I don't think you're important to me," she declared with a tilt of her head. It didn't mean that he wouldn't be, but there was absolutely nothing familiar about him whatsoever. Dead fish eyes and glasses were important, but not this guy. "I don't think I know anyone like you. Oh well."

She grinned, as self-assured as ever. "Nice to meetcha, Daitou! I was Queen of Kabukichou in my dream, but you can just call me Queen," she said, a glint in her eye.

"Well, I don't think I know you either, so at least we're even," Souji said brightly. Just another weird mystery of the Sphere, for the moment.

A thought occurred to him. "Um. If you're a kabuki queen, does that mean you're actually an onnagata?" Queen didn't look like a boy - but women weren't allowed to be in theatre...

"An onna... EHH?!" Her expression contorted into one of deep offense and she balled one hand into a fist right in front of her. A drag queen?! How dare he?! Okay, she would be okay with being mistaken for a boy if she was dressed as one, but she was clearly a female. The problem was breasts. She needed bigger breasts. She needed to find two grapefruits and shove them down her dress and then everyone would know how womanly she was. Or watermelons. Grapefruit nipples on top of watermelon breasts. That was what she had to do.

After she got food.

"What're you trying to say, huuuuh?! That I look like a boy?" She placed a hand on her hip. "I'm one hundred percent woman! Ka-bu-ki-chou. I'm the queen of the area. Not a drag queen."

"No, no! You look like a girl!" Souji replied hastily. She looked like she was probably pretty strong for a girl, and he didn't want to start a fight. Mostly because he was afraid he'd lose control and hurt her, but.

"It's just all I've heard of is kabuki, not Kabukicho, and women aren't allowed in the theatre, and well. I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it." He gave her a bright smile, which usually worked to calm people down.
