He had just never expected for it to actually work.
The mess of blue hair, casual slouch-- it all matched one of the first memories he had received. The white Shiba wasn't there, but Castor didn't really care, clicking his tongue to get Boy's attention and making a beeline for the lost-looking teen, lanky dog trotting at his side.
Shit. He had thought, after Pollux had disappeared, that he was just shit out of luck for ever seeing anyone from home again, let alone someone he apparently was friends with. He knew nothing about the kid, but... sure enough, it had to have been the same guy.
"...Hey, you." Granted, that didn't make his greetings any better. Drawing close, his brows furrowed. "...You just get here, then?"

He snapped back to reality when he heard someone, and he turned his head. Before he could reply, a dull pain flared to life behind one of his eyes. As the other approached, he felt a strange sensation, a clench in his stomach. Something about seeing this guy didn't feel right... and he didn't know why.
"Yeah," he answered, nodding.
"...But where is 'here'?"

A pause as he glanced over the other teen- Newborn clothes, still holding a map and new journal and... fuck, maybe he hadn't gotten the rundown. What a pain in the ass. Well, Castor really didn't feel like going on a tangent... But maybe an introduction would be good.
A shoulder rolled. "Name's Castor. You picked something to call yourself, right?" he swapped the worn leather leash tethered to Boy to his other hand as the dog sat and scratched herself happily.

"Oh, yeah. I went with Jack," he answered, and wondered why the word 'Castor' made so much sense. Still, he had met someone here nonetheless and was content with that for now. He wouldn't admit aloud that waking up with an empty head in a sea of strangers felt pretty damn lonesome.
"Nice to meet you." A pause.
"Wait, is this sort of thing normal? Was Castor something you picked for yourself, then?" His eyebrows furrowed. He had a feeling he was in for a bit of a ride.

He would have been content to leave it at that, but... Damn. He had never been so good with stepping in for greeters. "It was somethin' I said in my dream. And it was a real damn name. We got tons've people called 'Lampshade' and 'Integrity' and shit like that." His tone, maybe, showed his opinion on it a bit. He didn't think his own selected name was any better, but at least he didn't call himself some kind of metaphysical concept.
...Instead he went with a brain-monster. Good show.
"Speakin' of- you remember much from the dream you got? It's pretty much all we got from back home." And maybe there would be more context there for the information he did have.

He smiled when he brought up his opinion on the names. Lampshade? Integrity? That was kind of weird, and he was immediately glad he picked something so normal. Something in his mind found a sense of, 'ha, that makes sense' at the connection of this teen and the word 'Castor'. But why?
Jack brought a hand to smooth dark hair away from his eyes. The dream was disturbing to him, but if this guy knew more, it would help to divulge, right?
"I'm standing in a dark room... and I'm alone, I guess. This big blobby thing was coming toward me, clawing at the ground. I'm holding something in my hand... it must've been a weapon, but then I--" He stopped. Yeah, he wasn't about to admit he may have been suicidal in his own dream. Nor would he mention the giant snake.
"...Anyway, this guy in a weird costume comes in out of nowhere, wrapped in lights and smoke, and charges toward the monster. That's the long and the short of it," he answered.
He shook his head, then looked directly at him. "I'm getting a sense of deja vu. Have we met before?"
