[The conversation with Gai didn't take that long. Kagerou was almost relieved--well, she was wholly relieved that he had, like her, emerged unharmed, if wary, both of them having seen a dream they could not readily identify. Neither of them had handed the mysteriously appeared dream dust vial to anyone else. What had the point of their dreams been, then?
The sliver of haste that kept pushing into the talk was her awareness that she had promised Bell to accompany him on a walk--or rather, in truth, coaxed him into taking her along. The near-fiasco of her call for dates was still fresh in her mind, as was the way Bell had suddenly retreated from the fracas altogether. There was something unresolved there. She wanted to try and ease it, if she could. And dogs were safe, she had understood this. Several other, less straightforward encounters could be masqueraded as a run with the dogs.
Besides, she hadn't had many chances to spend time with Bell, despite his close relationship to her mentor and friend. She would take this one. So she said her goodbyes to Gai and then went to find the other ninja in the house.]
