Veda's eyes opened to an utterly unfamiliar ceiling, and some bright lights which had been positioned apparently to shine in his face as annoyingly as possible. He blinked a few times, tried to focus. Things didn't usually didn't seem this fuzzy after he slept. Absentmindedly he tried to reach out for his glasses - not that they actually corrected his vision, but it was habit.
That was when he realized he could barely shift his arm. A cold knot of fear started to form in his stomach. He hadn't fallen alseep somewhere odd. He willed his arm to move a little more, and felt the tug of a restraint at his wrist. The fear grew. Someone had taken him. Who? Why? He forced himself to think back past, through the fuzz. What was his last memory? A woman. Dark hair. Unfamiliar.
He scanned the room, tried to look for any signs of where he was - and any possible methods of escape - but when he turned his head, he felt a sudden wave of nausea and dizziness. He closed his eyes again, trying to take steady breaths until the feeling passed. The side effects of whatever had been used to knock him out, it seemed. This was bad. He could only feel the rest of his body in a very distant way - he tried to shift his legs, and realized he couldn't. The weight of his gun was missing from his side, as well. Less surprising there, all things considered - he kept it covered, but he hadn't expected to be knocked out and searched. It looked like he was going to have to wait and found out what his captor wanted of him.
