Summary: The three recover from post-Ichithing injuries, and Bastet has some words for idiot geniuses who fight Hollows with rocks and pointed sticks.
Yesterday had been the first time Bastet had actually been grateful for whatever was causing Lin to constantly appear at her side. It was irritating to have the other woman appear as Bastet was bathing or about to eat, but it was another matter entirely when she and Crimson had just survived an attack by Toushi’s hollow.
But the creature was gone, Kagerou had healed Toushi, and now Bastet had two houseguests while the three of them recovered from the fight. Crimson hovered around both women, visibly upset that he couldn’t do more to help in his current child’s body.
And every time Bastet thought about how he’d tried to fight a Hollow with rocks, she went cold with terror and hot with fury; how could he be so stupid? There were any number of other things he could have done to help that wouldn't have put him and Lin in so much danger.
But it didn’t feel right yelling at him as a child, so she held back most of her anger for now. Still a little stiff from her healing wounds, she walked into the kitchen to make some tea; maybe that would help calm her down.
