Why was he talking to the chocobos? She couldn't make all the words (something about birds and fists), but he was grinning all over his face. Sure, they were fun to ride, but he didn't look like he was trying to catch one...and he hadn't noticed her, yet.
Marbles bit her lip. What the heck was up with him, lately? That journal entry of his - maybe he'd been having a bad day? He'd been snappish after his radio memory, too, but...nothing like that.
Well, he looked happy enough now. And he was King, come on. He'd never been anything but decent to her, not counting that one time. And if he was having a bad day, or a bad week, Marbles figured she ought to try and help.
"Hey!" she called, waving her hand at him through the fence. "Hey, King! Over here!"
