Juhani looked back. Her follower saw her turning and ducked out of sight behind a tree, but she felt him all the same. She sighed.

In one of her memories she had spoken to and of someone named Dak Vesser. She and Stranger had found him in a place of the Sith, and spoken to him there, and then she had told Stranger who he was. He had trained with her as a Jedi; he had told her that he loved her, and left when she did not return his feelings.

She was fairly certain that Dak had not had the form of a large canine creature with a long tail, but the creature had his voice, and though his sense was a limited thing, to touch it gave her that same feeling of regret and pity and old pain that she had felt for him in that memory.

He would not be here long. She hoped that she could speak to him while he was. If perhaps both of them could work past this old pain and say more than a few words...

All the same, she was relieved to find distraction in the Park, a familiar if altered sense in the Force. She changed her path, cutting through a drift of sodden, melting snow. It was impossible to move at a normal pace through it while being silent, so she gave up the effort. Dak followed some distance behind.

"So this is what you meant," she said a moment later, stopping. "Hello, Sniper. Are you not cold?"

Sniper turned around at the sudden noise behind him, startled for only a moment before he saw what he had come to recognize as a friendly face, accompanied by a not as friendly looking dog-monster-thing. He seemed to meet a lot of dogmonsterthings, but unlike the one in the Yard during the zombie attack, this one didn't look feral.

"Oh, hey Juhani," he said with a friendly wave. "Yeah, this is what I meant. Weird, huh?"

At the mention of cold, he scratched at his elbow. "A bit, but I don't want to waste a bunch of money buying clothes for a body I won't have for much longer. It's not so bad."

"It is peculiar," the Cathar allowed, remembering to blink. "Perhaps some sort of cloak? Though I suppose they are not your style."

"Ah, that's a good idea!" Sniper said brightly. "I never even thought of that, but it seems like it'd be useful for going out on walks and stuff. It'd be bad in the Yard if it got snagged on things, and I need to move my arms around to fight, but other than that..."

He grinned at her. "Besides, cloaks are cool."

"They add a certain mystery, yes," she had to admit. She smiled. Faintly, in a way that suggested irony, but it was a smile. "I do not favor them myself - I fear that I lack the proper drama - but perhaps you would manage."

Drama was part of it - willingness to be seen was another. Juhani may have relaxed somewhat about that, but she still hated to call attention to herself.

"Oh come on," Sniper teased, "I bet you could totally pull off the drama. You'd just have to do a lot of dramatic sweeping. And dramatic turning around, probably. And jumping off high places to surprise people." He chuckled to himself, trying to imagine it. "Or stand in really windy places."

Dramatic? Well, Sniper knew that he was dramatic in a way, but that was mostly comedic dramatic. He doubted anyone would view him as someone cool or someone to be feared.

"Dramatic becoming entangled in things, perhaps, or dramatic being caught on doors," she countered dourly. "At times I have worn a hood. This contributes to mystery, which will have to be enough."

"Awww, Juhani," Sniper faux-pouted, "you're no fun. But hoods are pretty dramatic too, so I guess those could do."

He reached one hand out into the horizon. "You know, like, who is that mysterious hooded stranger? She must be an adventurer from distant lands who's come to, eh... slay the evil dragon and free the village's people! Dashingly!"

He wiggled his fingers in her direction, rather dramatically.

"Like that!"

He'd had to use the word 'stranger'. Juhani glanced away.

It was just a word. That was all. She shook her head and looked back, more soberly.

"Perhaps," she said.

Sniper watched as Juhani changed from what he assumed was humouring him with some sense of amusement to apparent dismay. Was it something he said?

"Eh? Did I..." He began, but trailed off. He buried his hand into the mass of hair he found himself possessing with in this older body and tilted his head, looking at Juhani half in concern, half in embarrassment. "Ah... sorry. I'll stop goofing off now."

She was a serious woman, after all, he reasoned. She was probably just getting tired of him running at the mouth all the time.
