Summary: Smoke is currently being afflicted by the Mistletoe Event (which, surprisingly, has never happened to him before!) and happens upon Kurayami during her smoke break. UST only gets worse.

After the on-again, off-again snow of the last week, Kurayami had been relieved when Sunday morning dawned clear and blue. There was still a light crust of snow on the ground in places where the constant foot traffic or the roofs and awnings of the Bazaar hadn't shunted it away, but she didn't mind that; it crunched nicely under her boots and made the morning feel crisper.

The weather also made for especially nice smoke breaks. Leaning back against the alley wall, she stared up at the patch of visible sky overhead, savoring the warm smoke and cold air.

Something squealed, loudly, and she glanced down in bewilderment as a familiar animal came barreling around the corner. "What the--" she started to say, then yelped as it barely slowed down before squeezing itself into the space between her legs and the wall, nearly forcing her to sit on it.

She managed to stumble forward instead, nearly dropping her cigarette in the process. "H-hey! The hell?"

Smoke came running up to the alley way just as Z-kun found his hiding spot. He stopped a few feet from Kurayami, bent over and gasping for breath as he'd been sprinting all out in an attempt to catch his pet. "Swear... I'm going... to kill it..."

As he stood up, he took a few steps forward and leaned against the alley wall, all sassy and charming and ridiculous. "Fancy meeting you here! Looks like Z-kun's taken a shining to you, huh? Thanks for being a good roadblock."

--well, that explained a few things. Mainly the reason why an enraged rappig was cowering behind her, making angry snorting noises. Its snout was the only thing visible, peeping from behind her long skirt.

"Hello, trouble," Kurayami said, with a chuckle, looking more at the owner than at the pet. "I should have known you'd be on his tail." She reached down to disengage her skirt from the glowering animal. "Hey, Suzy," she added, and knelt to scratch behind the rappig's long ears.

"Ha ha, hello to you too." Smoke leaned over a bit too, trying to coax the rappig away from Kurayami. "I know I say this every time, but I promise I'm not going to feed you that stuff just because you happen to smell the sushi."

In leaning over like that, Smoke's head got about a foot away from Kurayami's. When it was clear Suzy wasn't about to budge, Smoke had every intention of standing back up and indulging in a smoke break along with Kurayami. However, he couldn't straighten his back. He reached out with a hand to stare at one side, then the other, and he even tried to move his foot - which worked - but he still couldn't budge his head.
