Rick wasn't sure if holding his and Genius' birthday party was a good idea after Koi's death. He'd hardly known the man, but knew he was very important to a lot of people, and he'd touched a lot of them.
After debating with himself a while, Rick thought that the show should go on. If people wanted to show up, that was fine, even if they weren't in a party mood. If they wanted to stay home, that was fine, too. The bar was nice and warm after the sudden cold snap.
Rick had made Genius a nice, big cake, and this was set on a food table near the dance floor as a bit of a centerpiece. Some food had been laid out already- sandwiches, chips, peanuts, finger food- but there was plenty of room for more. He also made sure his wrapped presents- one for Genius and one for little Tribble- were stowed away safely underneath the table he'd claimed for himself.
