Characters: Cagalli/Cassandra & Halle/Raise Date/Time: 8-14-08/Dinner Location: Someplace that serves dinner? Rating: pg Summary: I don't think it's a date, but who knows...
Cassandra took a good long look at her surroundings. "There are so many people here..." she began softly. "Sometimes you wonder what their stories are, and how different they are from your own."
She turned back to look at Raise and searched his features, almost as if she could possibly find an answer from him by looking alone. She didn't find an answer, but she was satisfied, nonetheless, and so continues.
"A connection," she repeated. She didn't really recall saying that particular fact aloud, but he was correct. "You somehow remind me of my memory... and the people in it. The way you walk, the way you hold yourself..." He was very sure and strong about himself and it was very comfortable for her to be around these sorts of people, she found.
She gave another smile of encouragement (to herself) and continued, though still hesitantly. She began to tell the tale of the big metal machines, and how people could fit inside them. And of the war and battle that seemed to erupt from these machines. She also told him how she didn't think they were built to hold more than one person inside because it was a bit cramped, she remembered, with just herself and another.
"I remember feeling surprise and outrage as I looked at the beautiful and destructive machines from inside a smaller one," she finished off.
[ooc: LOL! I began looking up gundam 00 on youtube because of ya ;)]
He grew quiet as she spoke, explaining the memory. Everything she said sounded so... right. He let his fingers fall across his lips, elbow on the table. He glanced down at the table, pondering the thoughts. Perhaps Cassandra was from the same world as himself and Aurora?
"Wasn't there a robot like that in our dream?"
"Beautiful, destructive machines..." he muttered quietly, as though to himself. Machines... single pilots... and the battles that erupted around them. He sat up, tilting his head. "There's... there's some words that seem to hold meaning for myself and Aurora." He spoke slowly, as though considering each of his words. "Perhaps you'd recognize it?" he forced another smile. "It seems as though we do have some sort of connection..."
He sat up with that military straightness. "Veda. Veda and Gundam. The words seem important to our world, but..." He shrugged. "Of course, we're not sure what it means."
Raise glanced over her. He reminded her of her memory? He watched her closely, as though trying to figure out any connection himself.
"I... I had a brief flash of a large machine like that in my dream..." he shrugged.
(ooc; Good! <3 The show is bitchin'. And part of me is saying tagging a 3 AM is a bad idea, but. If it does;t make sense, just tell me. <3)
Did Raise recognize her dream?? What was the connection? There was only a small speculation, but could they possibly be from the same world?
"Gundam...?" Cassandra tested the word out on her lips. She was so surprised at how easily the sound came out. And then, "Veda..." That one was a bit more distant to her tongue.
"Gundam sounds familiar, feels familiar," she said almost immediately. The memories of her dreams flashed through her head in a second and she remembered herself saying painfully, "Gundam?" She shook the images out and looked at Raise. "I... I think that's what the machines are called." Her eyes were wide and waiting for Raise, for him to tell her if she was right or wrong.
[ooc: Yikes! I never fixed the time zone for LJ so all the hours are screwy for me D: What time zone are you in?]
He folded his arms on the table with a sigh, his mismatched eyes closing. He was a little disappointed that their conversation was entirely 'business' so to speak. But then again, they seemed to be on the verge of discovering something. "When the wilderness was a city, I found some boxes with the word 'Gundam' on it." He nodded. "Those are the models I referred to when we spoke. I believed they word meant the toy but perhaps..."
He sat up, looking at her. "They could simply be scale models of the large machines. In this case, I have detailed models of these Gundams. If we do both bear a close connection to these machines, perhaps it could be of help."
After speaking he grew quiet, reaching out for his water, before giving another smile. "It's... it's rather comforting to have someone finally confirm that the words feel familiar to them as well..." He tapped his fingers on the glass as he thought on this.
"You can come see our 'toys' any Goddamn day~" It seemed as though the innuendo was too much for Praise to pass up on- he mad his quiet comment gleefully. "Dude, Raise, if you let her go..." he growled out.
Raise tensed slightly, resisting the urge to choke into his water at his Other's comment, trying to ignore the light pink tinge on his face. "Ah.. yes." he stammered out, setting down the glass. "Yes, that sounds fine..." he murmured, sitting back as the waiter arrived. He conveyed similar information, passing off the menu.
He paused as she spoke shyly, glancing down for a moment and lifting a hand to awkwardly brush those flyaway strands of hair back behind his ear. "I'm... I'm glad that I could be of assistance." he muttered, smiling warmly. "Though I'm hardly doing anything... simply bouncing ideas back..."
"Perfect. Now subtly invite her over." Praise laughed happily. "It'll be easy!"
[ooc: I'm EST too! PA is my state :3 - and LOL @ Praise]
She vigorously shook her blonde locks and gave Raise an upset stare. "You do more than that for me!" She tried to explain. And then she gave a slight blush and retreated back farther into her seat, a bit embarrassed from her outburst.
Cassandra looked up from underneath her blonde bangs. She was a bit concerned with Raise's behavior. He looked a bit flustered, and his face was red. Without thinking, she got up and reached over the table, placing a cool hand to Raise's face. "Are you alright?" She asked with concern. "You feel a bit warm..."
[ooc: Cliche' D: I know. Stopped at episode 5. No sign of Halle xD Anywho I'm off for the night! Bai!]
(ooc; xD He shows up for like.. a split second in episode five, I think? Maybe six. His real debut is ep. 10.)
He stiffened at her touch, eyes widening. "I'm... I'm sorry?" Thinking back, had he ever explained his condition to Cassandra? Perhaps that was why she was so concerned... And perhaps that was why she seemed so comfortable. Other than her connection. "I'm.. I'm fine." His lips curved upwards in a small smile of his own.
"..It's just rather warm outside, I gather."
"Good. Leave me out of this, telling her you're clinically insane on the first date is a bad idea." Raise wished that his Other would stop trying to give him advice.
He lifted a hand to gently take hers, pulling it down from his face. "Thank you for the concern, though." Raise nodded as this. It was only after a moment that he realized his hand was still upon hers and quickly withdrew it, glancing to the side.
"...I'm not very versed in social etiquettes..." he admitted quietly.
Cassandra smiled with relief when Raise said he was fine. And he seemed earnest about it too! She nodded "I suppose it has been kind of hot around here lately. I hear there is a water park in the wilderness but I haven't gone to visit yet," She tucked a non existent bang out of her eye, a force of habit.
But then when she realized where her other hand still lay in Raise's. She blushed furiously as she apologized and placed her now tingly hand in her lap. "Sorry!" She yelled out.
But then her momentary lapse of shyness slowly seeped away with Raise's next statement. Now she was a bit befuddled. "Social etiquettes...?" She repeated with just a slight hint of confusion in her tone.
She didn't really think that one had problems in that area. They just usually come to you, right?
Nevertheless, she gave a reassuring smile. And then she couldn't help but let a chuckle out. And then that small chuckle became a full out bell-tinker of a laugh. He was so... adorable! And unexpected!
"C'mon, genius. Explain this one. You're socially awkward because of your violent split personality?" Praise scowled. Were he in control he would have kept his hand upon hers and moved in- not backpedaled and created such tension.
Raise frowned in slight frustration. "I'm sorry. I just tend to be..." he gestured, as though searching for a word. "...Anyway." he folded his arms across his midsection, thinking desperately for a change of topic. He was beginning to wish they were still on the topic of memories.
And then she started laughing. He blinked looking up in confusion for a moment, before letting himself smile faintly. "...What is it that's so funny?"
Cassandra let out a few last chuckles before she wiped her tearful eyes with a finger. "N-nothing," she stuttered as she tried to control her laughter. She sighed out peacefully when she felt herself return to control.
It was a good thing too, because that's when the food decided to show up. Cassandra ordered a roasted bird of some sort and a cool glass of lemonade.
She smiled up at Raise. "You know, you just need to get out more! It'll come to you," she advised.
"..." Well, she was laughing. That must have been a good thing, right? I meant that she wasn't so uncomfortable and confused. Maybe. He wouldn't question it further, simply confusing himself. He sat back as the food arrived, nodding thankfully, before resuming the conversation with Cassandra.
"I'm sure it will eventually." He mused, smiling faintly with a content sigh. "And I've gotten better at dealing with people." He admitted. "Perhaps it's the faint commonality that makes things easier." Raise gave another small chuckle as he picked up his utensils, glancing down at the fish before him.
"...Well, at least you're not half bad at this. But you need to look at her more. Don't get stuck as just some friend." Praise warned, leaning back and sitting on the edge of the table. he had wandered back into Raise's vision, amusing himself by visibly looking over the woman. Raise hated the hallucination of his other self. "If she's not doing anything after dinner invite her over to see your models," He lifted a brow and grinned.
Had they not been in pubic, Raise would have let Praise know exactly how he felt about the other's advice. But as they were, he was forced to keep quiet. Bu then again, he did have one decent piece of advice...
"What are you doing tonight?" he asked innocently- he lacked the subtle meanings Praise had in the words, "Perhaps if you have time I could show you the Gundam models I have." He suggested.
Cassandra looked up midway into her second bite. It was good. She quickly finished swallowing before daintily wiping her mouth and answering.
"I'd love to see the models tonight!" She exclaimed with a bright smile. She didn't think Raise had the time! "But, I have to be in bed early, I have an early job tomorrow," she told Raise.
She pointed at his fish. "How is it?" She asked with a cock to her head.
[OOC: I have college orientation today and tomorrow. So You won't be seeing much of me. SORRY!]
(ooc; D: LDKSH;SAKJS; sorry I'm so much fail! Got my internet hooked up now, though!)
"Well, fuck." Praise frowned, his brows knitting together. "A quickie'd hardly be appropriate on the first date... Maybe we can just fondle her a bit when she comes over. Keep her waiting for next time, eh?"
Why wouldn't Praise stop talking? Raise bit his lip softly, trying his best not to acknowledge the other man and his suggestions. "It's.. it's fine. thank you." He nodded, deciding that eating some of his fish would help him seem more.. well.. normal. "it was a good idea to come here." he smiled, reaching for his drink.
Meanwhile, Praise was still talking mostly to himself, one finger circling the rim of Cassandra's glass. "Invite her over... get a little more intimate... I think she'd be all over that." He grinned. "And if you're too much of a pussy then I'll do it~
His grip tightened on the glass at that. He didn't need Praise deciding to take over. "Is everything you have alright?" he finally asked, lifting his brows. "And.. you work in the marketplace as well, I believe you mentioned? Or was it just that you also lives in Section One?"

The waiter finally came around and took their orders. Cassandra politely pointed out her selection and waited with a smile for Raise to do the same.
She agreed completely with Raise. "I... don't feel so confused as before, at least not with you here," she returned shyly.
