It was only her second time going to the wilderness as Lucy bounced a little bit in the elevator. Thankfully her feet were securely planted on the ground so there were no bulky spacesuits to be worn as a voice sounded out to stop bouncing in the car. The perky brunette stopped quickly, apologizing to the voice just in time for the doors to swoosh open and present a change of scenery for the girl.

She stepped out into the brilliant sunshine and wiped the sweat from her brow. There were slides of every shape and colour and pools of water everywhere. The mountains of plastic were curved into circles and the sound of rushing water greeted her ears as she gave an audible cheer. However, there were no people to be seen from Lucy's viewpoint as she cupped her hands around her mouth. "Hey Sight," she shouted. "It's Lucy, where are you?"

His ears perked up at hearing the cheery voice, and the masked man decided to pop up from behind her. "Yo!" Apparently 'beating the heat' had nothing to do with revealing his face; he had a mask pulled over it, the rest of it pooling at his neck. Otherwise, he was shirtless and wearing some baggy trunks that he'd managed to buy at the one of the clothing shops in the marketplace.

"Glad to see that you could make it." The only way one could tell he'd smiled were hints from the fabric of his mask and this one crease near his visible eye. "Nice to meet you, Lucy."

Then he stretched out his hand in the direction of the water slides. "I've been trying out a few cool tricks over there." At the moment he'd pointed, one of the (NPC) adventurers who was with him was washing down the slide, shouting and screaming in delight at the cool water. "...and it's not so bad to have some fun once in a while, eh? Sometimes the job is just like this."

'Wilderness... Wilderness'. Slash kept his eyes mostly glued to the map, trying to match this landmark to that, this box with that building. It was easy enough, but, still confusing. The elevator was easily found, crowds of people trying to get on and off. People stared at his hair, which, didn't seem much like anyone else's. Spikey, two colors; it was different. "Are you some kind of cos-play-er?" someone asked, which received a blank, confused stare.

With everyone else, he stepped off the elevator, this place looking wholly different than where he came from. It was a surprise how they contained somewhere so huge inside the basement of the tree town.

It wasn't his to make sense of, so why bother?

Slash still stuck out like a sore thumb, boring grey clothes with his exceptional hair. That strange feeling overcame him, and this time, it made sense to yell it.

HELLO EDENSPHERE!" he yelled, opening his arms and leaning back. Most everyone stared with the increasingly familliar confused stare.

Lucy couldn't disguise the startled yelp that came out of her throat after she'd looked over her shoulder. It wasn't every day that someone popped up behind her and scared the living crap out of her. She staggered forward before tripping over her feet and landing on her knees with a sick sounding thud.

"Don't do that!" she exclaimed before sitting down on the ground to rub her now sore kneecaps. Second time in the wilderness and she just had to go and have a clutz attack. Her attention was diverted quickly as she followed Sight's finger to the slides and where he'd been practicing his tricks.

Lucy wanted in that water and she wanted in now as she clambered to her feet. She pulled off the t-shirt she was wearing to reveal a yellow bikini top with light blue polka dots as she grinned excitedly.

Before he could say any more, she was already on her way down; all he could really do was rub the back of his head and think about how quickly she'd taken off...

...before turning to whoever yelled. Somewhere behind him, close to the elevator. Sight decided it was that weird guy from the journals--a new guy. And once he took a glance, he--

--well, Sight had to give him the benefit of the doubt since people seemed to all come from very different places where one sense of fashion didn't match with another.

"Yo!" he greeted. He might as well, after all. While there were some who looked on and stared at the newcomer, there were others who looked completely baffled and yet more who simply ignored him.

"You know I think you're the first person to say something to me all day." the rocker replied. "So, everyone's been giving me these strange stares all day. Is there something wrong with my hair? I was born like this ya know." Slash ran his hand through his hair, and it fell back into the places it was before. "Oh yeah... I'm Slash... I guess everyone's making a big deal over me talking to the journal... Right? Well... someone did..."

Lucy managed to catch the last part of Slash's conversation with Sight before she placed her hands on her knees to catch her breath. There were more than a few flights of stairs to get back up to the top as she tapped Slash's shoulder. "Why were you talking to the journal? It's not like it's gonna talk back or anything."

It didn't really matter now but she still beamed at the newcomer. "I'm Lucy by the way."

I'm sorry this is such a late response. My weekend was really involved, and I got lazy. shouldve_didnt August 18 2008, 14:07:44 UTC
Sight smirked. "Oh? The first person, eh? I don't see why anyone else wouldn't want to talk to you." After all, everyone was kind of weird in Edensphere. People just didn't... look all standardized or anything, and Sight himself was used to being stared at (or at least getting double-takes) since he wore a mask.

"And I'm Sight," he added after Lucy popped by. She really did seem the energetic type, coming back up just to say 'hi', but friendly people were good like that. Sight himself wasn't exactly a very social type of guy, but he did what he could when the opportunity arose. "So, you're here to have some fun in the water, too?"

I can feel your pain because I'm in the midst of the work week from hell. D: lemonshine August 21 2008, 03:21:46 UTC
She was good for a friendly face and a cheerful disposition as she smiled at the men. She listened patiently, waiting for a chance to pop back into the conversation even though the lull of the water slide was horribly tempting her. "Anything right now has to be better than hanging out in the tree frying our brains," she supplied lightly.

"Besides," she continued. "The water's great!"
