Characters: Qĭ (enchainement) and Serenity (serene_sunshine) Date/Time: Backdated to October 6, early afternoon Location: The farm Rating: PG Summary: Qĭ and Serenity meet up and explore the farm. Maybe pet some cows, idk.
The problem with Qĭ and time was that the girl lost track of it easily. Today she had a good grasp on. Along with tomorrow and yesterday. There were calendars in the house of course, and that helped, but hours? She wasn't so good with it.
So she was late finding Serenity. But that was okay. Serenity was probably a familiar idea, right? So she just had to look for the familiar in the thoughts instead. Which lead her to the path near the cows, and someone who was probably who she was here to see. "Hi, hi, hi!"
When Qĭ bounded up, Serenity was leaning against a fence post with an arm outstretched, scratching the ear of a happy-looking cow. She hadn't really been paying attention to the time either, so she didn't let it trouble her that Qĭ was late. Did time even matter in a place like this? She would figure it out eventually.
Turning quickly, she let her hand drop to her side and dusted it off on the leg of her khaki overalls. "Hi!" she said in return, smiling brightly at the other young lady as she closed the distance between them. "You must be Qĭ, right?"
"I am, she is, we are Serenity and Qĭ." She grinned and waved again, already shoeless, braids coming loose and the ribbons of her dress flapping in the wind behind her like makeshift wings.
Eventually she came to a stop in front of Serenity, grinning at one of the cows and petting it's damp nose. "It's an important name, a heavy one, Serenity, the she that was but isn't here any longer used it too. Why did you pick it?"
The sight of Qĭ, her voice, her mannerisms, the way she moved... everything about her resonated with Serenity. She tilted her head a little and grinned. Qĭ wasn't what she'd imagined, but she was beautiful and whimsical and Serenity liked her immediately.
She knew that there were other people who'd been named Serenity before her. Just why had she chosen that name? "It was... comfortable, I guess?" she said. "Wasn't anything from my dream I saw, but just a feeling I got." Like home, safety; things she didn't feel here. At least not yet.

"How about you? Was your dream full of stars?"
