SNIPER & CHIVALRY THREAD longnosedliar October 3 2010, 04:20:43 UTC
Sniper was having a difficult time staying calm in the face that everything that had happened recently. First, there was that whole business with the hourglasses where he fretted over people he didn't know, and quietly thanked whatever deity that held power over this place that it didn't affect those he was close with, then immediately felt guilty for wishing such a thing.

And then there was Prince. Chivalry. It wasn't as if he felt as if he was close with the man, but it was a shock to have him suddenly disappear one day, only to appear the next and repeat the same behaviour that he showed in the past. It was downright eerie. That could be him. That could be Krile. That could be anyone ( ... )

It didn't take long for the blond to get up to the Access Point. He'd gotten use to the lay of the land on the Shitty-sphere in a fairly short period. Then again any idiot should be able to read a map.

Wisps of smoke trailed up from the cigarette up towards the ceiling the blond was currently staring at in contemplation. Every now and then he'd roll the butt between his lips, pausing whenever certain thoughts popped into his head.

One such thought was that he was certain that this Sniper guy was another person who knew something about him. Chivalry kept these theories to himself for the most part; better to observe for now and watch what unfolded from it.

The clear 'ding' alerted him to his destination. He pushed away from the wall. An air of indifference seemed to follow him, but that look easily slipped away the moment he stepped out and caught a glimpse of something that had visible eye widen and lips parting into a surprised 'oh'.

"...You!"

Sniper watched curiously as Chivalry stepped out of the elevator, and softly exhaled once he ascertained that whoever was on the journals wasn't simply somebody with similar writing and cursing habits. Nobody else in the world could possibly have an eyebrow like that, so this was definitely him.

He took a breath, stepping forward and readying himself to introduce himself properly, but stopped short when Chivalry appeared to recognize him.

Puzzled, Sniper took a step back. Does he remember me? was the first thought that ran through his head, but no--if he did, there was no reason to look at him in such a dramatic manner.

He ran a distracted hand through the curls sticking out from behind his bandanna, expression torn between confusion and anxiety. "Is something wrong?"

There was a long moment in which the blond just stood staring at the man in front of him. The strangest sensation had gone throughout his body; deja vu. There was something about this man, something important, but for the life of him, Chivalry could not recall what it had been.

The voice was eerily familiar too. The blond could almost catch whispers of the dream he had when first arriving rising back to the surface of his mind. This man's voice, though weird that he'd be dreaming of any shitty-man to begin with, had definitely been one of the many that had cried out.

Throughout their mutual staring contest, there was still only one fact that remained in the forefront of his thoughts.

"...Do birds perch on that?" The finger pointing towards Sniper's face made it quite clear what he was referring to.

SNIPER & BRIDGE THREAD longnosedliar October 3 2010, 04:29:37 UTC
Perhaps he didn't know Bridge all that well aside from being his boss, Sniper reflected, but that didn't mean that he wasn't worried when he heard that he had one of those hourglass things around his neck. He always seemed like a nice guy, and the hourglasses were so ominous that he could have sworn up and down that something dreadful was going to happen ( ... )

Bridge tried straightening the house up a little before Sniper got there, but it was a pretty fruitless exercise. His style of organized chaos suited him fine, but Sky hated it, and so he tried to strike a balance.

It didn't always work.

Logan's ears perked up right before Sniper knocked, and a grumpy Tom looked up from his cat bed and meowed his distaste that someone had dared disturb his nap.

Bridge eagerly threw the door open, grinning.

"Come in, come in!" He was happy to have Sniper over; the young man had been on Bridge's "get to know them" better list for ages, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Once Sniper saw Bridge's familiar face pop up at the door, his own face broke into a warm, genuine smile. This morning had been trying to say the least, and seeing one of the victims whole and apparently untouched was exactly the boost he needed.

"So you are all right," he said. "What a relief. Everybody was really worried there."

He grunted as he waddled into Bridge's home, and craned his neck around, completely unbothered by the mess. "So, where should I put this thing?"

Bridge's smile lingered as Sniper stepped inside.

"Yeah... I can see why they would be, from what I've heard," he agreed. "I mean, appearing inside of a cocoon's usually a pretty bad omen. I feel really refreshed, though! I guess that's what happens when I sleep for a full day..."

He looked around the living room a little helplessly. It was a little crowded, with various machine parts scattered about. A couch and Sky's favorite armchair occupied the living space, along with a crate with a lopsided sign reading "LOGAN" in green letters attached, on top of which sat Tom's cat bed. Logan himself lay in his crate and mooed out a greeting, tail thumping on the bottom of it.

"Kitchen table," he said, pointing. "I can start taking a look at it there, at least."
