He stopped near the drums and kept his voice just a hair above conversation level as a result, to speak with the strange white-haired man. "I'm not scared of him -- I just don't feel like dealing with him until he's calmed down."
He sat down on the same bench a few seats away from the guy. He tried to wrack his brain for how he knew this guy, because now he was sure he did... He was only thankful it didn't feel like the Sphere was interfering, nothing pressing at the back of his skull threatening a major headache if he kept thinking about it.
Smoke decided to try out his new aura-power-thingy, but unlike Kagerou and her companions, his was more of a "you got it or you don't" scale, then a vague idea of type he could only classify as 'origin' so far - since Hakkai and Goku had felt radically different, and lastly a really shoddy scale of power that he knew he could get better at thanks to the memory. There was no unique signature to auras for Smoke, and no emotional or sensory feeling attached to it. All he could tell was that yes this guy had some power, and he registered as a kind of 'type' Smoke figured he'd have to figure out later when he was actually using it more. So all in all, he still had no clue.
Fine. Do it the easy way. "Do I know you?"

"We were just talking, too." Snake picked up his journal and waved it slightly as if dropping hints to the redhead and turning this into some sort of guessing game. Snake liked games. It was more fun than just giving a straight answer.

"Wait a second..." The white hair and that grin, and they'd just been talking. "No shit, are you really Snake?" He was visibly baffled by this conundrum.
"So which is it..." He narrowed his eyes at Snake now, trying to convince himself one way or another even as he was about to ask the question. "Are you really a kid, or really an adult?"
Reply
"Now for that next question! So, which is it? Am I really the lil one or not?" Snake leaned forward slightly in Smoke's direction peering through slanted eyes.

Honestly, Smoke was thinking the answer might actually be the little kid. He was acting a lot like Goku from when he met the kid awhile back - a mostly adult body, but nowhere near an adult attitude.
It was when Smoke noticed that slanted-eyed look that something pricked in the back of his mind, and he remembered the sting of roots in his veins from the fire dream.
Can't be a kid... can he?

"Oh well." He thought about answering the question himself, but only briefly. He'd leave the air of mystery and let Smoke figure it out for himself. In the meantime, he wondered where the fellow with his pig was.
"How long before you think pig guy finds you?" Snake cocked an eyebrow and his smirk slipped to the side a bit as he asked the question.

Still no answer. Geez ow, this guy... That stinging pain was stronger.
Smoke turned back towards the drummers, watching the mannequins perform and play. "I dunno how good a tracker he is. I'm hoping it's awhile, since he's also got Suzy with him. Maybe that'll keep him busy long enough to cool down."
He massaged his chest once, then pulled out his lighter and cigarettes to try to calm his nerves. He inhaled once, breathed out, and sighed contentedly. "Ah well. Even 5 minutes is enough now."

Snake watched calmly as Smoke pulled out the cigarettes and put one lit up to his lips. No games, huh? Guess he just won't get to know for sure then, Snake thought. Of course, it didn't matter to him one way or the other. The 'game' had only been to pass time. The wilderness turned out to be not quite as interesting as the other ones he'd explored so far, so he found himself seeking out other forms of entertainment.
"You know those are bad for you." He nodded in the direction of the little white stick.
