Opening the door, Koi went outside to catch some fresh air. His white hair was caught by a breeze and fluttered around him, so he had to stroke it back slightly to be able to see. The Tree was absolutely beautiful like this, covered with these blossoms. They reminded him of something nice and good, and he felt at ease.
Moving from the house, he decided to take a short little walk and see if the pressure in his chest would disappear. In truth, he already felt a bit better, so hopefully all he needed was the humid nighttime air. Humming a little to himself, Koi then looked slightly surprised as he saw another sleepless wanderer.
"Good evening."

Someone tall and elegant, as it turned out, with long pale hair that blew in the breeze like a banner. He looked kind, though. Kurayami managed a quirk of a smile.
"Good evening," she echoed. "It's a little late to be out for a walk."

Koi was rather surprised to see that the black-haired girl had wings, but it made her look rather cute. Smiling again, he looked up at the sky, enjoying another breeze that swept by, bringing a little rain of pink petals.
"It is beautiful, don't you think? Even more so in this dull light of the moon."

She supposed some people might have preferred the blossoms lit brightly by daylight, but it was gratifying to hear someone else appreciated them by night as well. "Yeah," she agreed. "It mutes the colors...makes them more subtle. The shadows make it harder to see every tiny detail, but at the same time they pick out the most important shapes and emphasize them."
She made a little gesture, tracing the shape of a drift of blossoms that hung over them. "I'd...like to try and paint it," she said, almost sheepish about the urge. "I don't know if I could, but I'd like to try."

He sighs, hiding his hands in his sleeves to not get cold even in this mild weather.
"Paint it? Aa... that might be nice. You're an artist?"
Koi could not remember if he'd seen this girl around before. With those little wings, she seemed to stand out enough to be noticeable. Was she new, or just someone who kept to themselves?
"My apologies, I forget my manners. I'm Koi."

"There's so much I don't know..." Glancing up, she saw him listening patiently and winced. "I'm just thinking out loud, now, aren't I? So much for manners."
She held out a hand to shake. "I'm Kurayami."

He takes her hand and gives it a little shake, his grip firm but gentle. The way she winced when she caught herself thinking out loud had him chuckle; the kind of pleasant old-man laugh that didn't mix with his young face.
"Do not worry about it, Kurayami. It is late and thoughts have wings at night. It's nothing I do not mind hearing."
Sighing, Koi looked up at the sky again, watching as another breeze brought with it a rain of petals. It was so calming and serene, out here when the Tree's population was asleep and the moon shining on the sakura could be enjoyed in tranquil peace.
It made him choke a yawn.
"Are you new to the Sphere? I cannot say I've seen you around before."

Turning her face into the breeze, she closed her eyes. "Well, I'm almost three days old," she admitted. The little smile that tugged at her mouth was unmistakably rueful now, despite her best efforts. "They tell me that's pretty new."
