Polar attitude shift hooooo xD bumpychampion May 18 2010, 19:05:41 UTC
The change in the other man's attitude was drastic and obvious on nearly every level. He didn't just see the change in his body language, in the way he struggled with the items in his arms, but the guy's pores were suddenly oozing out clouds of pungent fear. Again, the fact that he could note this with his sniffer at all didn't hit him as strange, but second nature. If all of that wasn't enough to confirm that the once-jaded jackass had altered his tune, the change of his steady heartbeat to something fluttery and frantically pounding would have done the trick. The lot of it...well, the man liked it. It gratified him in a way that, contrarily, he very much didn't like. Thankfully - or not, depending on how one looked at it - what came out of Steve then was enough to derail his mind completely.

Opening his mouth to say 'What do you mean 'who am I?', but just as soon as he had the realization that he, in fact, didn't know his own damn identity paused him. The defensive fury in him melted in the face of someone as non-threatening as Steve and gave way to his own version of fear once again. Unlike the other man, however, he was actually good at hiding it.

Taking the clothes with his free hand, one he wiped on the still-hanging towel first, he did his best to make his expression neutral instead of angry. "Turn around." Alright. That wasn't a huge success. Round two... "Please."

Only when Steve did as he asked would he begin to wipe himself free of the muck. True to his greeter's words, it had become somewhat difficult, but hadn't yet gotten to the stage of impossible. With a little work, and two minutes time, he had freed himself almost completely of the cocoon's echoes. Rather than fill the window with words, he allowed silence to have its turn as he calmed himself and again made a go at trying to decipher his predicament. Faced with a lack of his name - and an entire lack of an identity, at that - the rest of it came tumbling down the mental mountainside; he couldn't name the city of horrors he had been yanked from, couldn't remember the names of the people around him there, couldn't remember why he had been fighting, couldn't remember any of it.

This couldn't be just any amnesia, however. He was sure of that much. And why had the other man said he had just been 'born'? Clearly, if his size didn't dismiss the notion, his blurb of memories would have done the job. Someone had pulled him here, likely conjuring him with some spell or another, and at this Steve was again looking like someone he might have to hurt. Harmless though he may be, he had to be working with the same witch or warlock that had done the real damage. Slipping on his clothes - a white combination of what looked like medical scrubs, almost - he spoke up.

"Alright, turn around." He waited until this was done. If so... "You need to slow down. So, what, your evil boss had me brought here, wiped my memories, and you're telling me he set the base of his little operation in Disney World? Gotta say, if he's trying to intimidate me, he lost me at the 'happiest place on Earth' part."

His face screwing into something menacing a second time, he began to stalk his way towards Steve with no actual intention to do him harm, but no objection to it either. By the look of the guy, a little glowering would do the work for him.

"So how about you ditch whatever 'master plan' the two of you geniuses cooked up, give me my memories back, and I'll let you flee back to The Tree alive." The whole 'picking a name' thing, for the moment, seemed to have gone over his head.
