Summary: Sylvar mentions on the journals that she used lightning.
Lightning.
Handmaiden clenched and unclenched her fists as she stood in the park, waiting for Sylvar to arrive. She had written of it, so apparently casual--Handmaiden knew better than to pass judgment by the written word alone, but it was not something that Sylvar had decided not to mention. It was possible that she did not know the significance of such a use of the Force. Yet... Handmaiden did know that Sylvar had destroyed several of the strange assassins. She was not surprised that Sylvar had relearned some ways of using the Force. That was only natural--and right, in a way. Learning through peaceful training was all well and good, but it was only in battle that one's true capabilities manifested themselves.
Which made it all the more worrying. Lightning... Handmaiden looked down at her hand, flexed her fingers. Could she have used that in the battle against the mantis? It had not been necessary. But through the darkness, when it had roared around her, begging her to take it up in righteous vengeance... and the voice from her dream. Did I command you to betray me?!
And after that had been pain. Piercing, stabbing bolts of light, ripping apart every nerve in her body. He cooked from the inside out. If the Exile, whoever that was, had not come then... what would have happened? A gruesome, torturous death. That was what the lightning offered. Handmaiden was keenly aware of how little she knew, but she felt as though she could be certain of that.
The lightning was something of the dark side.
