Somehow, Eternity didn't quite understand how it 'came out wrong'. He already knew and acknowledged his eyes as one of his features that didn't quite fit with the norm, but usually they didn't distract people to the point of discussion. Instead, most people felt unsettled by his gaze, and he could observe it in their reactions. Though feeling perturbed, however, this stranger also found something of intrigue and even mentioned it aloud.
"They're naturally like that." At least, as far as he was concerned and knew for the time being, they were. There was a reason behind the glow, one that Eternity hadn't yet discovered but likely couldn't even relate to upon doing so. "I noticed it was well, after I obtained housing in the residential section."
"Nevertheless... I come for groceries. Namely, for bread, rice... some vegetables. I have to cook for myself."
Just like that, it was simple enough for him to return to their original conversation. Eternity wasn't by any means a people person, lacked social skills, and had little intention of honing them. Despite that, he was relatively civil and formal toward others; it didn't quite come naturally and required some effort but worked out well enough so far.

If the stranger didn't notice the slip up then hey Genius wasn't gonna call it. Maybe things like cheesy pickup lines didn't translate well to people from....glowy eye land. Magical Glowplace. Whatever.
"I've noticed the wide genetic variance in this place, it seems far greater than anything I'm familiar with but really it's just a matter of perspective I guess. For example, silver hair strikes me as strange but I've met several people with your hair color, along with pink and blue. Eye colors have been more widely expressed as well. Evolution at it's best I guess? They say we're all from different worlds and different times so it makes sense I guess."
Genius could ramble on this topic for hours if someone let him. Luckily they got back on track with the discussion of food.
"I love bread." That was helpful Genius. "Do you ever try any of the takeout stalls? There's a great place that makes the best ramen to go. I avoid cooking for myself unless I have to, all my attempts have resulted in something burning or not fit for human consumption. You'd think I'd be better at it, being a medic."

"While medical and scientific skills may be applicable to food preparation, abilities in those areas don't necessarily equate to great cooking."
A quiet chuckle escaped him when the man mentioned the results of his cooking attempts. Since his rebirth, he'd made nearly all his food for himself. There might've been a time he'd had Paladin or Reed's cooking, but he didn't really remember it.
"And... I've tried some of the sit-in places but never really got takeout. What's this ramen place you recommend?"
